Even your picture you posted is not as ridiculously light as the picture they posted of B.

I agree that Beyonce is light-skinned. They probably just chose an extremely light picture of Beyonce to go with that wig of hers.

My major problem isn't even her skin color--it's how ridiculous she looks in that picture trying to peddle hair dye while wearing fake hair. LOL.

We're just bad as - Ricky Martin, Leonardo DiCaprio, etc - women are hot over a male celebrity, we say they're gay.

Come on, gemini072, you don't think it's even a LITTLE BIT humorous that a company would advertise their HAIR PRODUCTS using a woman wearing a wig? That is hilarious/ridiculous, whether you're a hater or not. Laughing

For a long time, I thought Beyonce's hair-dos were her real hair, but I have been schooled on the reality of lace wigs over at mulatto.org. Very Happy Apparently, Tyra Banks sports them, too. Beyonce is a beautiful woman and has a lot going for her, but that doesn't change the ridiculous nature of the ad. Besides, anonymouse, a dude, chimed in with the horse hair comment. Laughing

I'm not saying "we" as in all of us, because I don't do it myself (well, about two weeks ago, for the first time, I said it about Ricky Martin after finding out that he just had twins through a surrogate mother - someone like him, who can have ANY woman he wants, having children through a surrogate mother is WAY too suspect).

I'm saying "we" as in men in general. Hell, during my teens, alot of boys were saying that the New Kids on the Block were gay, because their girlfriends were gawking at them.

Ohhh....*yawn*

I love it when men who don't understand a woman's thoughts/ideas/opinions try to pigeon-hole her into being a simple, jealous ninny.

Someone once told me I was jealous of Halle Berry because I said she was a horrible pick for Storm. I thought Nona Gay would've been better, but my opinion suddenly went out the window because the man I was talking to couldn't see any other reason other than jealousy as to why I wouldn't want Halle Berry in that part.

It's the same, tired old story with some of you boys, isn't it? Assuming that a girl is interested in guys, assuming that a girl wants what other girls want, assuming, assuming, assuming.... Very Happy

Beyonce is selling a hair dye product wearing fake hair. That, in my opinion, is ridiculous. As ridiculous as most hair/shampoo commercials that use models wearing weaves and wigs to peddle their oft damaging products.

But of course, you think I'm just jealous. I can't formulate an opinion...oh no...that would take too much time away from my work categorizing women by how much better or worse looking they are than me, right?

Twisted Evil

And now you're just being catty. Must be that time of the month. Laughing I'm totally just kidding. I agree with your assessment of the dyed wig absurdity and that sometimes an opinion can be wrongly viewed as jealousy, but I think women do that to each other, too, but maybe that's only because we are constantly "categorizing women by how much better or worse looking they are than" us! Rolling Eyes Laughing Laughing Laughing

Very Happy

True, a lot of us do, but I'd rather look at a woman and appreciate her rather than categorize her. Of course, I'm not perfect---I have had my ridiculous jealous moments...!

Depends on the male celebrity and how "pretty" he is. Women were hot over Wesley Snipes at one point. I doubt many men find him gay. That's because he's classically masculine. Same with Alec Baldwin, Patrick Dempsey, and Denzel Washington. Ricky Martin falls into the pretty catergory.

There were actually a lot of rumors about Ricky, men & woman believe(d) he is gay.

I agree with though that a man that is classically masculine. People don't wouldn't think he is gay unless there is a behaviour we question. Prince a is 'pretty' man and some the most diehard fans thought he was because of certain ways of dress... Most men don't do out of envy like women will tear up a beautiful woman.

The point is we were dealing with Beyonces skin color which is why certain pictures were posted. And 'the ladies' zeroed in on something else to make fun of or rip on her.

So you & Famu just proved my point.

How did we prove your point when neither one of us, at any point, was ever hating on her, speaking out of jealousy, putting her down, etc.? Dude, it's a hair care product ad. What are we supposed to do? Ignore the dyed blonde silk elephant in the room? Laughing Beyonce is gorgeous. There's no way around that. The thing about the ad was that some people think L'oreal changed her appearance. Doesn't it follow, "naturally" (pun intended) that someone would point out that a wig is being used to hawk hair products? Rolling Eyes You know, anonymouse (a man) said something about horses, not me or Famu. Razz Maybe he's jealous of her too? Surprised

She deserves to be ripped on for wearing a wig while selling hair dye. It's ridiculous. Just like if a guy wore hair plugs while talking about hair dye, I would laugh, too.

This is "One Drop Rule", not "The Gpod Old Boys Club", so I suggest you keep your personal issues and/or insecurities about women to yourself or put it in an appropriate forum. Laughing

Who the hell are you talking too?

This isn't womens support/gripe group either... but we have a forum specific for women (NO Men Allowed) what is that.

It's not my insecurities, but obviously yours for being born the way you look. Surprised
